Quiet Week
Hey folks, with our preparations for CES this week being so heavy in addition to Doug and myself getting our day job responsibilities out of the way we have just not had time to put together a proper blog entry. However we intend to make it up to you this week with a few posts during the week from CES as well as some quick interviews we will be performing there. So while this little post is all you get this Saturday, you should see more later in the week.
You also may have noticed I have pruned the show Archives of some of the older shows. If you are still looking for a show and do not see it send me information and we will see if we can track it down for you.
So I am off to get things ready for this weeks show and then hopping a plane Sunday for Vegas and CES 2012. Trust me there is more to come.

In June of 1977 a 14 year old walked into Morris Library at Southern Illinois University. Downstairs in the media lab he was put into a cubical. The dull orange glow of a plasma screen lit his face as he first began to use the Plato computer system. Now all these years later he still has the same passion for computing that he caught that fateful day.
Hi, I am Computer Ed, also known as Edward Crisler. Computing to me is more than a job, it is a hobby and a joy, something I do for fun and work. Joined by my sidekick Doug Berner, I try to spread that excitement about computing through Computer Ed Radio, a local radio show done live every Saturday on WGGH, AM 1150.
This show got it’s start in 1996 as a simple one time on air interview to discuss how to make wise computer purchases for Christmas. Soon it grew to a monthly and then weekly regular interview on the Morning Meeting with Pat Benton. When Pat left WJPF the show left with him for a short time but the efforts of Roz Rice and Tom Miller helped to raise it again. From there the show grew into a one hour regular show ever Sunday but we continued to grow and soon needed more space. Jim Fishback at WGGH saw our potential and gave us 3 hours every Saturday to see where this show will go.
This show is about trying to infect others with my passion for the hobby of computing. We discuss computing news, new technology, review software and hardware as well as explore how to get the most out of your PC and more. However the true topic of the show is you, our listeners and how we can help you get the most out of your computing experience.
The show airs live Saturday afternoons from Noon to 3:00 PM CST. Use the listen live link to hear the show then, or if you have to miss it check back here every week where we will keep not just the most recent show but an archive of about the last 3 months of shows.

Here’s hoping you and Doug have a great time in Lost Wages, and a safe flight.
Long ago my father was the E & D coordinator for General Electric auoio and video for the CES. He said he always enjoyed it when it was cool in Vegas ‘cuz the convention authority would not turn on the air conditioning during setup or dismantling times. So it could get as hot as an Iraqui tank in the desert at summer time.
Looking foreward to hearing about lots of goodies.

Hey Dan, thanks for the note. I am heading out in a few minutes and doing some last minute check in. Doug and I discussed it yesterday and are kind of disappointed because we will get little time down on the floor, we are booked solid with meetings all week. We will however do our best to get some floor time for everyone plus of course the neat inside stuff we will see in our meetings.
